Holoportrait Instant Image Capture System
Facestation has introduced a new parallax image capture system for 3D holograms and holographic stereograms of live subjects or products. The Holoportrait system is a more portable version of the company’s Facestation system, for instant lenticular portraits.
Holoportrait uses six digital still cameras, but creates a multiple set of images, generating ‘in-between’ views of the subject complete with horizontal parallax. The driver software synchronises the camera’s flash so that the exposures are simultaneous, allowing for conventional "real-time" portrait photography with flash of both moving and stationary subjects.
The proprietary imaging software then creates the in-between images so that up to 36 parallax images of the subject can be used to make the hologram. The images created can be saved as BMP, JPG, etc and can be loaded in any imaging software , for example Photoshop, or Corel Draw. The individual images can be automatically or manually registered by the software, ready for exposure on a hologram origination machine, such as the Lightgate, KineMax and Ahead systems.
Additionally the system ships with a unique 2D to 3D conversion software for the production of bespoke 3D backgrounds.
Holoportrait is supplied with all the hardware and software required and is entirely controlled by the included laptop computer, including a press button interface. The whole system is contained in a sturdy, custom-made flight case for easy transportation.
The Holoportrait system is priced at £15,500 including shipping and training, and can also be used to capture images for lenticular photographs.
